a discovery, hundreds of bronzes and iron age metal objects, some dating back
more than 3400 years. These findings are changing what we know about early

discovery of the Somlo Hills
Between 2023 and 2025, research teams
explored the hill top using modern tools like metal detors, LIDAR scanning and
magnetic surveys. Surprisingly what they found was beyond anyone expectations-over
900 metal artifacts hidden in the soil.

This included jewellery, weapons, ornaments,
tools and even traces of ancient metal working evidence that the site was once
a center of craft and culture

did researches find there?
Archaeologist undercover a wide range of
different objects
* Bronze swords and spearheads
* Gold-covered collars and decorative discs
* Jewellery: bracelets, brooches, pendants
* Horse gear and tools
* Metal casting remains showing local
craftsman
In total, six hidden hoards were discovered
-on sealed inside a ceramic pot, perfectly preserved for over three millennia.

age (1400-800 BC). Somlo Hill was full of life. People built wooden houses,
melted bronze in clay furnaces and made ornaments that still shine today.
The blend of gold, amber and boar tusks show

once powerful community.
